Our History: From Rockford Roots to Global Reach
Greenslade & Company, Inc. was founded in 1978 by Joe Greenslade in Rockford, Illinois. Originally a supplier of tooling and services for bolt, nut, and screw manufacturers, the company quickly expanded into the inspection and measurement space:
1983
Added mechanical fastener measuring and testing equipment.
1990s
Began designing proprietary measuring devices and manufacturing test plates using CNC equipment.
1999–2002
- Developed in-house calibration services
- Achieved ISO Guide 25 accreditation (2000)
- Upgraded to ISO 17025 (2002)
2002
Relocated to Fort Worth, Texas.
Launched our “One-Week Calibration Turnaround” policy, driving major growth.
2004–2007
- Expanded sales, engineering, and international business
- Joe Greenslade sold the company to team members Larry Borowski and Larry McLaughlin
2009 – 2019
- Doubled facility size and tripled the calibration lab footprint
- Added CNC equipment and new calibration software
- Rebranded with a new logo, stronger marketing, and a modern website
2019 and Beyond

Who Is Mr. Measurement?
Our in-house mascot, Mr. Measurement, was created by Fort Worth artist Gregory Arth. His presence on our site and materials reflects the blend of precision and personality that defines our brand.
